A small update for you about what’s happening here in Greece, post our elections.
1) for the first time ever the extremist right party (called by most neo-nazis) has entered the Parliament. With a shocking percentage of 7%, which translates to the massive number of 440.000 people. Half a million Greeks voted for these blokes, most of which have been sentenced for attempted murder, or (even in some cases) actual murder.
2) currently we have no government, as the other 6 elected parties have not managed to form any kind of coalition. So we will soon be going to another round of elections (which means that another 40m Euros will be spent on the elections themselves). This has lead the IMF to announce that no more instalments of our memorandum(s) will be given out unless we have a (pro-EU/ pro-IMF) government elected.
3) one of my oldest friends, who is a journalist, was seriously beaten up last night by three guys with helmets because he always speaks his opinion and another friend was beaten up with a stone the day before, when entering a block of flats and had her handbag stolen.
So. There it is. What the fuck?!
PS I am up for adoption, preferably by people outside the EU.
